Päivi Keski-Pomppu is a designer, interior architect and goldsmith based in Helsinki, Finland.

Curiosity for understanding the unique character of different materials and deepening the knowledge of different scales and details in design field brings Keski-Pomppu endless inspiration. Keski-Pomppu’s craftsmanship is deeply embedded in her designer identity and it has shaped her thinking in many ways.

Studies: In 2002 Keski-Pomppu received her goldsmith degree, and in 2013 she graduated as a designer (BA) from the Lahti Institute of Design. In 2021 she graduated as an interior architect (BA) at Aalto university. At the moment Keski-Pomppu is studying her Master of Arts (MA) degree at Aalto university, Helsinki. 

Background: Born and raised in the tiny village of Torro, in the idyllic countryside of Finland, Keski-Pomppu was already drawn towards handcrafting as a small child.

She is the founder and independent designer for jewellery brand Keski-Pomppu and co-founder of Studio Bom.

As an entrepreneur, her strength is her skill to stay open minded and curious. In jewelry Keski-Pomppu’s ethos is to create sustainable high quality works that last time.

During the years her clients have included The University of the Arts Helsinki, Lokal, Lumoava, Music Finland, Glasshouse Helsinki in addition to many private customers.

Keski-Pomppu's works have been published in magazines such as Scandinavian Vogue, One Magazine, Costume DK, Trendi, Gloria, Asun and Suomalainen Koru book. Her works have been featured also in commercial campaigns for Marimekko, Lumene, Sanoma & Tauko.

Her works have been exhibited at Copenhagen Fashion Week, Helsinki Fashion Week, Habitare, Formex, WeeGee Exhibition Centre, Fashion in Helsinki, Helsinki Design Week.

2018-2021

In Keski-Pomppu’s Interior architect BA thesis Art & Space - the Interaction Between Art and Space in Home Environment she researched what kind of art average consumers acquire into their homes and on what basis, as well as what art means to them in their lives.

During her studies at Aalto university Keski-Pomppu deepened her knowledge on the understanding of spatial depth and lighting. In addition she’s focused on learning how to utilize glass as material. She’s learnt the basics of Autocad, Archicad, Rhino6, Keyshot and Sketchup.

2006-2013

For BA at Lahti University of Applied Sciences studies Keski-Pomppu worked in many design field as an object, furniture and service designer. During the studies Keski-Pomppu had course works as business cooperation with companies like Finavia, Etelä-Suomen Sanomat & Kalevala Koru. Studies gave lots of practical skills and understanding for materials such as ceramic, glass, metal and wood studio. 3D-modeling basics (Rhino) Adobe Ai, Id, Ps.
